GENRE: Situation Comedy, pilot episode

LOGLINE: A young widow rebuilds her life by moving to the small, artsy tourist town of Mount Dora, Florida, and starts an Airbnb-like guest house.

​

ROLES:

 

Hope, Lead (Female, Mid 40s) – Perky, cockeyed optimist, nerdy, generous to a fault, always sees the good in everyone.

 

Polly, Neighbor (Female, 30s-60s) – strong Jamaican accent, everyone’s grandmother, comes out with wonderful pearls of wisdom that are a bit wrong.

 

Sandy, Caretaker (Gender open, early 30s) – Gender fluid, ethnically ambiguous, mystical, stoner type with ‘MacGyver’ abilities to repair anything.  

 

Jeb, Neighbor (Male, Mid 40s) – MAGA, conspiracy theory believer, big eater, mechanic. Lives at home with very large momma. Has crush on Hope.

 

Aunt Kat, Hope’s Aunt (Female, 60s) – Hope's favorite aunt, eclectic, wealthy, free spirit, always traveling to exotic places. Unconventional, hedonistic.

 

Prof. Richards, Hope’s deceased husband (Male late 30s) Charming, smart, bookish, nerdy college professor. Appears in memory sequences

 

Little Girl – ages 7-10.  Precocious and worldly.
